Left untreated, eucalyptus will weather when exposed to the elements, turning a soft shade of silver/gray similar to the weathering of teak. went through three of these and all had large cracks/broken slats. we're done and also going to return the two chairs that go with this set. the two seat bench with cushions that complete the set finally arrived today after being back ordered and it was cracked. good luck to you. what a pain and very frustrating.
